DETAILS

Established in 2013, ONEING is the biannual journal of the Center for Action and Contemplation. Renowned for its diverse and deep exploration of mysticism and culture, ONEING is grounded in Richard Rohr’s teachings and wisdom lineage. Each issue features a themed collection of thoughtfully curated essays and critical perspectives from spiritual teachers, activists, modern mystics, and prophets of all religions.

This edition of ONEING looks at anger from as many perspectives as there are contributors to the journal, not to mention those sources referenced in the articles. The common threads that run through the issue include justifiable anger, shame and anger, grief and anger, and ways to manage anger — an emotion that can, indeed, consume mind and body unless, as Richard Rohr states in his introduction, “we . . . take the risk of legitimate attachment (fully feeling the emotion), learn its important message, and then have the presence and purpose to detach from that fascinating emotion after it has done its work.”

This issue features contributions from Richard Rohr, Barbara Holmes, Allen Dwight Callahan, Walter Brueggemann, Shirin McArthur, Josh Radnor, Joan Halifax, Mark S. Burrows, Barbara Brown Taylor, Russ Hudson, Mirabai Starr, and Brian McLaren.
